Art in Motion: 02 Basic Japanese for Artists and Business Owners

As Hawaiʻi continues rebuilding connections with Japan, Waveline Collective is excited to launch our very first Japan Art Tour this summer, featuring juried artist members exhibiting in three cities across Japan!

To help artists prepare for this opportunity, we are honored to welcome Mrs. Tomoko Bose, also known as Tomoko-Sensei, for a fun and practical virtual workshop on basic conversational Japanese.

In this workshop, participants will learn:
• Useful Japanese phrases for travel and everyday conversations
• Simple communication tips for speaking with customers and collectors
• Cultural etiquette and business customs in Japan
• Ways to build respectful and positive connections with Japanese audiences

Whether you are joining the Japan Art Tour or simply want to feel more confident connecting with Japanese visitors and collectors in Hawaiʻi, this workshop is designed to support you confidently connect with Japanese customers!

Hosted by Waveline Collective, this event supports our mission to connect artists, share resources, and grow together as a creative community. Tomoko-Sensei is generously volunteering her 17+ years of teaching experience to support local artists, and 100% of donations will help support Waveline Collective’s programs and mission.
